I don't know why people have bad reviews about Golden Z because it's sooo good. It's a local spot and you don't expect it to be gorgeous inside - just a mom and pops shop. The food is always good and my favorite is their chicken. it's $8 a box and you can't beat it. they asked me if I wanted to get just the rest of the chicken in my box for a few more bucks so I said yes of course. Call in if you don't want to wait but the orders are still pretty fast.
Food is always bussin. It feels like home because they speak Chinese but they also speak English. My go to dish to get is Peking pork chop over rice. For less than $10 it's a steal. Love Golden Z
Fast, easy, cheap, local and amazingly good. Can't get this good chinese local food anywhere else in the area for the unbeatable price. Whenever I miss a nice home cooked meal, this is my go to spot. They also have congee here which hits the spot whenever I'm sick or it's cold outside.
The best no frills chinese spot in Brooklyn Sheepshead Bay area located on Avenue U. I like a lot of their $8/$9/$10 specials. I usually ask the guy who cuts the meat up which is the best for the day. Their duck or roast pig over noodles or rice is my personal favorite. Their roast pig skin is soooo crispy. Their duck is super meaty and skin is super tasty. If you're into bitter melon, get it with beef or fish. Super bitter but that's what makes bitter melon good. Feels like home cooking for the unbeatable price. The workers here make you feel so good. If you're asian and understand the asian hospitality.. they call you pretty girl or handsome boy. HAHAHA way better than your own family gatherings. Don't expect this place to be beautiful because it is literally a no frills local spot.

This has become one of our go-to spots for authentic Chinese takeout. Pretty much anything you get here is legit and delicious. Last week we preordered a roast turkey for Thanksgiving at $8/lb. Unfortunately they didn't carve it for us (most restaurants don't) so it was a bit of a struggle and we had to reheat it but it was still good!
My 1800th review goes to Golden Z! I've been coming here since I was a kid and have had many great lunchtime memories with my family here. It was also our go to anytime my parents didn't feel like cooking. I remember always getting the fried fish with tofu over rice, which I haven't had in a while so I definitely need to come in again and try that. On this most recent visit, we ordered some stir-fried lobster (for takeout - from the looks of it, it doesn't look like they're currently doing indoor dining anyway) and it was served in a tray, as opposed to those white cardboard containers. It was perfectly stir fried with morsels of ground meat, egg, and of course black bean. I'm glad they're still around and that we have a consistently good Chinese restaurant to go to.
